Here at Southwell Equine Assisted Learning we provide a specialist equine-based alternative provision for children and young people who are struggling in mainstream education. Through structured work with horses, nurturing relationships and hands-on learning we help students rediscover their confidence, emotional balance and sense of achievement

Working with horses helps young people to develop Emotional Regulation, Confidence and Self-Esteem, Communications Skills, Responsibilities, Trust and Relationship Building.
Who We support
At Southwell Equine Assisted Learning, we support children and young people who may be:
- Struggling in mainstream school
- At risk of exclusion or already excluded - or NEET
- Experiencing anxiety, low confidence or school avoidance
- Living with SEMH needs
- Finding the traditional classrooms overwhelming
- In need of a nurturing, trauma-informed environments
We work very closely with Schools, Local Authorities, SENCO’s and Private Families & Carers.
